At BlueSky we believe in making a difference. We work daily to help professionals take the next step in their careers. We focus on empowering job seekers and clients alike and always strive to go the extra mile to meet their needs. And this dedication to making a difference doesn’t stop when the workday ends. Each member of the BlueSky team participates in our GiveBack efforts which are focused on empowering those members of our community who are in need of a different kind of assistance. Our GiveBack efforts for 2014 are centered on two amazing organizations—Back on My Feet and Ronald McDonald House.

Back on My Feet
Back on My Feet (BoMF) is a motivational running club for homeless or displaced individuals. Started in Philadelphia in 2006 by Anne Mahlum, BoMF has grown to include 11 chapters nationwide with the goal of using running to create self-sufficiency in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. The program’s success is measured by how many of its members are able to obtain independence through job training, employment and housing. At present, 46% of the program’s residential members have moved their lives forward with a new job, a place to live or both. We are thrilled to share that BlueSky’s own Jeff Stout has recently been elected Chairperson of the Los Angeles chapter of BoMF. “Running and physical fitness have always been important parts of my life” said Jeff. “I’m excited to be able to share that passion with members of our community who are looking to take their lives to the next level.” BoMF is more than just a running club. It brings together different parts of the community to offer a program that empowers those in need to transform their lives. We are proud to help support their efforts in our local community.

Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House is focused on meeting the critical needs of children who are suffering from illness or injury. By providing housing, meals, counseling, support, transportation and assistance, Ronald McDonald House supports both children and their families through this challenging time. The BlueSky team will be actively supporting Ronald McDonald House in these efforts over the course of 2014 through donations and volunteer work. Whether it’s helping someone to get their life ‘back on track’ or giving a family an opportunity to feel comfort and support, it’s all about empowering people in a challenging situation.

We encourage each of you to look for ways you can play an active role in your community. Our GiveBack efforts on behalf of Back on My Feet and Ronald McDonald House have been a wonderful exercise in team-building for BlueSky employees and have given us the opportunity to connect outside the office in support of these two incredible organizations.
