Healthcare Provider Diversifies Talent Pool
Challenge.

A long-time client, a national healthcare provider, shared their commitment to diversity with BlueSky and asked if we could provide diversity in our candidate pool. At the time, we were working on 2 roles in the Seattle, WA area and 2 roles in Orange County, CA.

Action.

BlueSky organized a team and tools to conduct the search and established a weekly cadence for open and clear communication with the client team. We researched the racial diversity demographics in each target area so that we could understand whether our search results were aligned with the actual diversity of those areas. Leveraging our knowledge of traditionally diverse organizations, colleges, online groups, etc., we proactively reached out to a diverse population of candidates.

Impact.

Within one month, BlueSky provided 41 highly qualified candidates to the client. Of these, 39% were non-white candidates, reflecting the demographics of the areas. Also, 38% of the total candidates were women, which is higher than the average percentage of women that are typically in similar leadership roles. The client was pleased with the candidate pool. They selected 4 candidates to fill the original roles and then opened an additional position to hire a 5th candidate as they did not want to lose this great talent! We look forward to working with this client again in the future.
